Programming
DotNetNuke is provided free, as open-source software, and licensed under a standard BSD agreement. It allows individuals to do whatever they wish with the application framework, both commercially and non-commercially, with the simple requirement of giving credit back to the DotNetNuke project community. DotNetNuke provides users with an opportunity to learn best-practice development skills -- module creation, module packaging, debugging methods, etc -- all while utilizing cutting-edge technologies like ASP.NET 2.0, Visual Web Developer, Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005.
It is proposed to develop ELearning Portal by customizing through content modules, skins, data providers, language packs, and templates. Basic DNN portal provides following benefits for Web Developers: Extensible and progressive open source application portal framework Provides robust core application services which allow developers to focus on expert domain business logic. Reduces project life cycle duration and improves software quality and reliability. It also provides opportunity for students to create 3-tier, enterprize level, extensible and pluggable web application, using truely object oriented language like VB.NET 2005. All development tools like Visual Web Developer 2005 and SQL Express 2005 are available for free download.
